State law even dictates midwives have to transfer care to an MD at 42 weeks. Going in, we had a doula and were dead set on a natural birth, but once 42.5 weeks rolled around, she wasn't comfortable going any longer. In retrospect, waiting another week would probably have been a good idea | |

Also, 3 days of induction is why more and more doctors think inducing should only be for signs of medical distress by the baby, not because it's been "too long" - but it's hard to make that case to your own doctor. | |

We were in the hospital for 7 days, 3 days of failed induction followed by a c-section and then recovery. We went in at 42.5 weeks for the induction | |
