Even the calmest and well-behaved dog can get startled when touched unexpectedly by strangers and can act aggressively. And one anecdote I heard - someone was helping an abused dog recover. The dog had great fear of males, and a random male stranger just jumped to the dog to pet him, which resulted in the dog having a breakdown. | |
