After college graduation, I worked in management for a few years, got married and then pregnant on my honeymoon. We decided to make ends meet and that I should stay at home with the kids until they are older. I have worked nights and weekends at various points over the last 25 years so the children always had a parent at home-with the exception of date nights :) After our daughter was born, we waited 27 months to have our son. Due to medical insurance and financial restraints we waited 5 years to have our second daughter. We had planned to have another within the next couple of years for her to have a sibling close in age, but that wasn't meant to be. I grew up with 2 younger sisters and spent my years from 13-21 babysitting for college money. Basically I love children, mine in particular, and have spent the last 25 years trying to find positive, fun ways to solve parenting issues. Children, like adults, like to have fun and learn at the same time. So many lessons, habits, and methods of dealing with conflict that we teach when they are young stick with them into adulthood. As our children have grown, parenting them has required many different tactics and a lot more thought and research to find effective answers as they are all so different. I'm excited to learn from this community!
