Has anyone had problems with the avent manual breast pump? Our's is losing suction. We think it's a problem with a small silicone valve. Has anyone experienced the same?

  • We've got one too, works without problems. Just to be sure: did you check the instructions to see that you have all the parts, and that they are assembled correctly? You should ask the store for either warranty or spare parts. – Torben Gundtofte-Bruun Jan 29 '13 at 8:53
  • By the way - hello and welcome! This site is different than the forums you might be used to: We try to keep a strong focus, and technical support on specific products is outside our scope (see our FAQ). Please don't be sad that I am closing your question, but we can't really help. We'd gladly hear your questions about parenting though - and perhaps you can answer existing questions, too? – Torben Gundtofte-Bruun Jan 29 '13 at 8:56
  • Asking for advice on a parenting product is out of scope? If you say so... – Michael Jan 29 '13 at 9:00

We're not a site about products, we're a site about children. Similarly, questions about "what toy is best for toddlers" would be closed but "what factors make toys good for toddlers" remains open - we're trying to focus on the core ideas and values, not on specific items. (Downvote was not from me.) – Torben Gundtofte-Bruun Jan 29 '13 at 9:17
  • What would be some options for StackEx sites he could post this? Also, it's been a while but i believe we had the same problem and it was dishwasher junk in the crevices breaking the seal. you might also search this forum on the diffs between manual and mechanical pumps. Long story short: they're more expensive, but are worth it for various reasons. – monsto Jan 30 '13 at 0:39
