Should 18+ kids still have a tight schema for bed and PC-usage? I'm curious how it went for the OP! :-) |

Techniques for teaching children from the start about how to read advertising? @ChrisM: While I can't speak to the OP's motivation, I think it's a feeling that they're just bloody everywhere and unescapable, and everything feels like it's got a hook. Incidentally, what I do with my kids is just let them know that just about everything they see is trying to make them want something they doesn't have. |

Should I monitor my child's internet usage? If you control the gateway, you control the internet, as far as clients are concerned. The only way around that is to find another route to the internet. It does require a certain level of technical skill though. |

What age do you stop reading bedtime stories? Don't forget, you don't have to finish the entire book in one sitting. For my kids, some of the fun is hearing a chapter a night of a much greater story. |

Why does my toddler cry when he's put to bed? The important part is finding out what was the correct answer for you, not necessarily from where it came. :-) FWIW, I wouldn't worry too much about staying under the blanket. If he's cold, he'll cover up, and if he's hot he'll kick the blanket off. My oldest uses blankets even in 90° F heat, my middle child sleeps in her underwear all year around. My youngest isn't old enough to have made his preferences yet, but seems to be gravitating towards "keep a blanket, but only across the belly". |

Can I figure out what my baby wants by the sound it makes when it cries? +1 - This mirrors my experience almost exactly. IME, there are still some subtle differences later on. Crying from pain is very distinct from other cries, and cries for attention are distinct from cries of necessity (i.e. hungry or diaper) |
