How do we get our toddler to gain weight? We gave the boys 32 ounces of milk until they were a 1.5 years old and started eating more regular food, with the last 6 months being a transition from pumped breast milk to cows milk. By 2 they were down to 24 ounces a day and eating regular meals. The doctor did approve the transition diet and ran regular iron tests on them. I was anemic during the pregnancy so he was concerned about it. Thank you for your concern and it is good for people to know to be careful about the amount of milk their little ones get :) |

How do you cope in the first few months? Thinking back to the brain fog I was in I think that the only reason I gave up trying was because I was trying to cope with newborn twins and pumping was easier than trying to get two infants to latch properly, and knowing that I would be going back to work after 12 weeks. If you re-read my post you will see that my boys got breast milk almost exclusively for their first year. The point of my message is that no one can do everything and that if something has to give choose something that will make life better for your family. For me that was getting my boys to latch. |

How do you control the quantity of sweets and junk food a pre-teen eats? @bobobobo I added to my post to clarify our Sunday dessert tradition. |

What should we pack when going camping with an infant? My doctor recommended the Avon skin-so-soft product as the only bug spray to use when they were under a year old. |

How do we get our toddler to gain weight? @Swati we give our children a liquid multi-vitamin called Poly-Vi-Sol(I added a link in my post). Originally it was because I was breastfeeding and my doctor was worried they weren't getting enough Iron. Now they don't need the extra iron but I like that they get an extra dose of Vitamin D every day. Because it tastes pretty bad we add it to their morning milk. |

What are some do's and dont's for an effective bedtime ritual? @Konerak We have decided that the boys will probably share their bedroom, since it is only for sleeping anyway. At least while they are in grade school. |

What are some do's and dont's for an effective bedtime ritual? @Konerak So far the kids are only a year old (twins) so not yet. Our plan is that by that point we will have invested in an addition with an office/library. In it will will have desks/study space for each of us. I feel it is important that even though we have a small house each person needs their own personal space. For now though we are just working on not tripping over the mega blocks that litter our living room floor. :) |

How do you teach a child religious views? I also would upvote it multiple times if I could. Thank you for such a well thought out answer. |

How do I make sure I don't mix up identical twin newborns? Even now when they are only a year it gets confusing when someone puts that SuperMan pjs on the wrong boy. :) |

Should we freeze some breastmilk for later use even if there's no excess supply? You just need to make sure to rotate through it so that it gets used before it expires. |

How do you teach a child religious views? @HedgeMage I am sorry you feel that this is a repeat of prior answers. This topic is open to each persons views of it and minor differences in wording can be a big change in meaning. I agree that much of what I said could be a repeat of what others had posted prior. But, I did not feel that what I was trying to say was truly represented in the other responses. I do not post if what I have to say has already been said. |

What are some good resources for finding quality information about carseats? When we got there DH looked at the one that I had picked out and decided that it was to expensive and heavy. The one that we ended up getting had all the same features and because we needed 2 of them we saved quite a bit of money. When I got home and looked it up it is just as safe as the one I had picked out. |
