What to do when parents disagree regarding their parenting There are always going to disagreements about how you implement your parenting strategies. But it is important not to let your children see you two arguing. People have different personalities and will therefore parent a little differently. Choose your battles wisely. |

Vaccine reactions If you suspect it's severe, call the doctor. A fever, loss of appetite, and being tired are common side-effects. Call the doctor just to put your mind at ease. Most of the time vaccinations do not cause reactions that require any intervention. |

How do you stop a child from using bad language and profanity? Find out where he is getting the words from and put a stop to it. Television? Radio? Family or friends? |

How do you handle a teacher that teaches pseudo science? Can you provide a definition of "pseudo-science?" Science is based on empirical and testable phenomena. Creationism is a historical claim, just as Darwinism is. Neither can be reproduced in a lab or empirically tested. Consider the claim "Plato existed." It is a historical claim, not a scientific one, but you would not call it "pseudo-science." It is in a completely different field of study. |

How do you discipline someone else's child? Rewarding expected behavior is counterproductive. "You didn't punch a hole in the wall, little Jonny? Have a cookie!" |

When do kids usually stop believing in Santa Claus? Well said, Jonathon. I think the answer could be paraphrased as, "Children stop believing in Santa Claus when their parents decide not to lie to them." |

Is it alright to use corporal punishment on children? I'm curious as to your views on verbal abuse. You mentioned elsewhere that you sometimes "lose your cool" and shout. Do you consider this a preferable alternative to corporal punishment? |

How can firearms be secured from children? +1 fantastic and reasonable answer. children have to learn to live in the real world which includes guns, knives, water, rusty nails, broken glass, cars, germs, and a host of other potentially lethal objects. |

Is it alright to use corporal punishment on children? Be careful about taking your personal situation and making a generalization based on it. One person who experienced abuse under the guise of "spanking" will have a very different view of corporal punishment than someone who was calmly and and lovingly disciplined by a parent who remained in full control of his or her emotions the entire time. |

What are some good strategies for preventing Diaper Rash? Allowing the area to dry completely between diaperings helps a lot also. Also avoid using baby wipes that are perfumed. |
