comment How do you raise an intelligent and happy daughter in a sexist world?
The rejection of the parents' values usually has more to do with the fact that the parents preached the values but didn't practice them. Children adopt the values they see daily, not the ones they hear once a week.

comment How to deal with a teenage daughter who refuses to dress modestly
At what age did you begin teaching her about modesty? It sounds like she's surprised at your stance.

comment How can I handle a situation with a faulty, cruel teacher that does not like me and takes it out on my child?
Consider removing your child from the school. You're concerned about one teacher, but what if a similar thing happens again? You have a lot more options with private school or home school.

comment How do I handle a 10 year old girl “in love”?
First, where do you think she got the concept of being "in love?" Could it be from movies or TV? Or perhaps other kids she's hanging around? I would be more concerned about what else she's learning. Compared to what other things she's picking up, being "in love" is pretty harmless. Second, ignore those who tell you to stop reading her diary. A 10 year old does not have a right to privacy from her own parents.

comment 1 Year Old Wakes Up Screaming Multiple Times A Night
Screaming is not crying. The ominous link about research that suggests the "cry it out" approach is harmful refers to newborns who are crying, not 1+ year olds who scream a lot. Based on what you said, she's not afraid of the dark because she does it during the day when it's naptime. She also doesn't seem to be in any pain since she co-sleeps fine with the parents. Either she has bad separation anxiety or she's just manipulating.

comment My 4 year old daughter has suddenly changed her speech
Have you asked her why she talks differently? She might just be doing it for amusement.

comment Can lack of sleep be harmful for newborns?
What does she do when she's awake? While it may be unusual, it's not necessarily harmful. But there may be an underlying issue causing her not to sleep more. e.g. acid reflux can interfere with sleep, as can sensitivity to things like light and sound. Some babies are just very wakeful.

comment What to do when parents disagree regarding their parenting
There are always going to disagreements about how you implement your parenting strategies. But it is important not to let your children see you two arguing. People have different personalities and will therefore parent a little differently. Choose your battles wisely.

comment Vaccine reactions
If you suspect it's severe, call the doctor. A fever, loss of appetite, and being tired are common side-effects. Call the doctor just to put your mind at ease. Most of the time vaccinations do not cause reactions that require any intervention.
