I wear many hats at my workplace.
Primarily a Database Developer, but also programmer, web designer, DBA, sysadmin, and general office bitch.
I work for a small custom software house in Sydney, Australia. We use all manner of tools - but mainly MSSQL and a Rapid Application Tool called eDeveloper uniPaaS Magic XPA.

Should I enroll my child in driving lessons or teach them myself? @C4H5As - in Australia it's also possible to clock up the required hours to get your license on a few trips between capital cities. I clocked up half of mine driving from Adelaide to Sydney via Melbourne. |

How much sun is too much for a child? you can get sunburn through a tinted window. I drive long distances (Over 1000km/day) several times a year, and when I get to the other end, the arm that I rest on the door window sill is usally quite sunburnt, so prolonged exposure to UV rays still has risks behind UV tinting. |

How can I stop my toddler from playing with electrical outlets and plugs? @ashes - I can't upvote Carmi's suggestions enough. We upgraded our fuse box to include an earth-leak detector on all power points as soon as we found out my wife was pregnant, because my wife did the same thing that Carmi's wife did, and my sister was put in intensive care and all the doctors said she should have died (she didn't) becuase of a similar accident. |

How much sun is too much for a child? I don't know if I agree with your statement "here are no ill effects and the child can stay in the sun for as long as it wants". If they are sitting in direct sunlight (as the OP states they are), the exposure is the same. Even through tinted windows (such as in a car), you can still get sun burnt. Sunburn is skin cells in trauma, which is a leading cause of melanoma. Sure, this probably won't happen to a 3 year old, but over an extended period of time (say, 5-10 years), it's a massive killer. |

At what age do kids start sleeping through the night? I'm asking more for my own sanity than anything else ;) My wife and I refuse to co-sleep (for a variety of reasons, biggest one being safety cos I'm a very very deep sleeper), but thanks for the advice. |
