Saved from the web by a job in industry. Coding GUI for computer-aided railway realignment machinery.
At last a job where I have time to do stuff properly and don't have to worry about loads of unfixed bugs coming back to haunt me.

How do you handle unsupervised, poorly behaved children in public play areas? I've been in situations like this where I've intervened and subsequently had other people's children coming to me to resolve their problems too :) |

Is it safe to travel by car without A/C when it's hot outside? I'd add one enormous proviso: if you get stuck in traffic and air is no longer circulating, it could get pretty dire. |

How can I encourage my toddler to walk and not be carried? Not worth an answer, but ... make sure you're not walking too fast... |

Should I use a child harness? I once saw a guy with triplets in a busy town centre. He had harnesses and I completely understood why! Having said that, never used one with my kids, mostly because we stuffed them in a pushchair/stroller whenever we were in 'dangerous' places. |

How to handle a mother who is becoming unkind to the adult child? I suspect Karl is right about empty nest syndrome, but depending on what age your mother is, and if there has been a really dramatic personality change, it could be (though I sincerely hope not) some form of early onset dementia. |

Moving with our bilingual child Look for English-speaking ex-pats in the area you're moving back to, especially ones with small children... |

Reading in second language for a bilingual kid - how to approach a phonetic language vs. English phonics? My question here might interest you: parenting.stackexchange.com/questions/1695/…. We're French/English, which is a challenge, because while English has 'random' spelling, French has lots of 'unpronounced' letters... |

Online resources of quality cartoons for toddler @daniel.sedlacek, glad you like them :) You (sorry, I mean your child!) might like the Baby Einstein series - just ignore all the claims about boosting your child's IQ (or whatever) |

How much is too much worry/anxiety in a child? My seven-year-old has been known to worry about how she's going to cope with having babies :) |
