Saved from the web by a job in industry. Coding GUI for computer-aided railway realignment machinery.

At last a job where I have time to do stuff properly and don't have to worry about loads of unfixed bugs coming back to haunt me.

comment How do I tell my mom that I am not Christian?
Leaving this as a comment as it doesn't really answer your question, but please consider that even though you may feel 'finished' and certain about your orientations, a lot of things can still happen which may change them in the next 15-or-so years...

comment No BM control; what does this mean for training?
Our daughters both went through a phase of wanting to examine their 'productions', and being the ones to 'pull the chain'.

comment How do I deal with my pre-schooler's over tired behavior after school?
@morahhochman, I'd say that for a 4 year-old, your problem is right there staring you in the eyes...

comment How do I prevent my child from becoming frightened by “scary” stories?
That's me, 6-7 years old, hiding behind the sofa, listening to the Doctor Who theme tune (that alone gave me the willies!)

comment Resources for helping children understand that TV/Films aren't necessarily “real”

comment Resources for helping children understand that TV/Films aren't necessarily “real”
Good idea. Maybe it's age, but I increasingly find that the "Making of"'s are more interesting than the actual film. I'd pay money to go and see a feature-length "making of Avatar".

comment Is it normal for a six year old to say he's fallen in love?
Yeah, I'd call it a crush and encourage the child not to confuse a crush with 'real' love.

comment How to better engage myself with my 15 month old
I don't understand the question: you want him to be engaged with you, you want to engage with him, or you want him to occupy himself with toys?

comment What are the differences between a child who was born vaginally versus via caesarean section?
@TorbenGundtofte-Bruun, I think he was implying that men's resistance to pain is vastly inferior to women's, though that's probably a question for skeptics.SE...

comment What are the differences between a child who was born vaginally versus via caesarean section?
Anecdotal: when we were debating this issue with the gynaecologist for our first, he opined that if men gave birth there would only ever by Caesarian sections.
