@lgritz then there's something fundamentally wrong with the whole soccer program. Again, for young kids, the program should be little more than 'pick some teams and let's go out there and play!' Let them learn positions and strategy later on, for gosh' sake!

Just a minute: what sort of first-grade class has eight-yr olds in it? They should be six! Next, what sort of deranged parents think any kid younger than high school should put that sort of priority on a sport? Why doesn't he have any friends in other 1-st grade classrooms? All in all, I'd just let the party unfold w/ whoever shows (and you should have invited the gals as well), and let yr child figure out which kids are reliable and which are meatheads.

Leaving aside what your child may or may not have done, if a teacher really said "don't tattle," I'd kick his sorry ass all the way to Gitmo. There's no excuse for perpetuating that ancient gang-related them of not reporting inappropriate (or criminal behavior). Just ask the residents of Southie during the Winter Hill Gang years.
