How do I teach my child to speak in sentences? +1 for "be patient". And @Prakash, keep reading, reading, reading. Try to find good quality kids' books too. Reading one classic book with a good story 100 times is better than reading 100 different "fluff" or gimmick books. |

How many hours of television per day are acceptable for a pre-schooler? @Beofett, @Kevin, I've toned it down a bit in response to your suggestions. It's okay with me if people don't agree and vote the answer down, but I wanted to strongly state a case against any TV. |

At what age is a child able to brush his or her teeth unaided? If you can work through their initial toddler resistance and get them to relax and recline while you brush their teeth, they'll also have a better time visiting the dentist when they're older. We've done this with our youngest (5 now, not quite ready for solo brushing all the time) and it is the better way. |

How do you stop a toddler from trying to get into bed with her parents in the middle of the night? Yes. It's oh-so-tempting to let them stay longer than 5 minutes and your sleepy mind will justify it, but stay firm. |

Are modern cloth diapers really cost efficient compared to disposible diapers? +1 for mentioning the second child. Reusing or selling used diapers makes the cost equation a no-brainer. Earlier potty training on average for cloth-diapered kids is another factor. |
