@repecmps because they're two very different answers.

comment Do you use number of weeks or day of the month to determine an infant's birthday?
Possibly because you were off by a day: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/February_24 and more importantly: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_calendar Mind you, back then they added an entire 13th month, that day just came and went periodically.

I would vote this up, except for that last line. :(

comment What size schoolbag is good for a first-grader?
Added benefit of a rolling backpack (trolley as you call 'em over there) is that once a kid is used to that they know how to handle a rolling suitcase in an airport. Our pre-K little one is so used to dealing with his at pre-school that he almost dealt with a much larger bag the whole way the last time we flew to grandma's. Kept him occupied and one less bag for me to fight with. Win-Win.

Ah, I missed the age range, I suppose it makes more sense then.

Wow, are they really telling you not to send peanuts because one other kid in the class has nut allergies? I'm kinda shocked.

comment We're looking to get pregnant - what can we do to optimize our chances?
There's one item on Technique that is missing here. Both partners need to orgasm, and he needs to be first. The muscle contractions of the woman's orgasm have been shown (literally, with fiber optic cameras inside the vagina) to help get more semen into the fallopian tubes to be exposed to the egg by way of more of it being picked up by the cervix and brought into the uterus.

Very good thought, and one we considered as well but I forgot to mention. I'll update.

Good thought, I'll ask his speech teacher (he already has one). And yeah, the gum idea is horrifying. We've tried a couple of alternatives he was allowed to chew on... they weren't preferable apparently.
