Hey, terrific counterpoint! I might go with this - it'd certainly simplify things.

Just to explain my deliberation so far: "Food" is specifically called out as being a relatively difficult sign for a baby; "Mother" and "Father" are difficult to demonstrate if only one of them is present; "more" is a really useful concept, but I'm afraid I'd have difficulty "teaching" it since I can't physically point to "more." I might be overthinking this, but if there's a good recommendation that'd be terrific :D

comment No BM control; what does this mean for training?
@balancedmama: Thanks! She'll sometimes she'll say something like "I want to be changed!". (Once or twice it's been "I don't want to be changed!") But often, nothing at all (at her daycare, she often doesn't tell when she poops). She doesn't squat or do much of anything different when she poos; I can hardly ever tell "during", only after. (OTOH, she will often give advance warnings of her own volition. They're just... not very precise... or maybe she warns because she feels, then doesn't make on the potty, then makes when she's more comfortable.)

comment Do I need to space big changes? How much?
Sounds reasonable. How far in advance can a 2-year-old look forward to? Should I be telling her now about something happening in two weeks? In a month? I don't want to confuse or frustrate her.

comment Handling a toddler at a hotel/hostel
@TorbenGundtofte-Bruun: Perform, no, but when she latches on to a song she's overjoyed to complete the last word of every line... And that's performance enough to keep everybody cooing :D

Wow! Great to have such on-target advice. I appreciate this muchly. I particularly like the idea of turning "playing with my daughter" into a family event (not "my responsibility" or "foist this responsibility on family member X"). BTW, it's Passover's second holiday+Shabbat. Fun-fun-fun!
