@Bobnix sorry, I missed that detail. I think that this might be a sign that she has outgrown the device. Any modifications to the functionality could affect the safety of the swaddle. On the other hand, I used to use a square cloth swaddle and tie the ends in a knot.

tight is not the same as secure. the first is related to the size of the enclosed swaddle, the second is related to the strength of the Velcro. If Velcro were replaced with zipper or buttons, the swaddle could be both looser and more secure
