comment Potty training 20 months old, doesn't know when she needs to go
Ours was in a similar situation to yours. Understood what pee was. Couldn't figure out when she needed to go pee. I gave her a huge glass of water, had her sit on the potty, read a few books. Told her that water makes her go pee. After a lot of water and a couple of pees, she got it. She just had to associate the muscle/sensation with peeing and having that in succession after drinking water helped. Daughter was about the same age as yours.

comment Why do infants like stitting at the table?
Probably because everyone else is sitting at the table. Or because it's better than lying down and staring at a ceiling :) Or even there are usually things in reach at the table!

comment Once a mom has developed a cracked or chapped nipple, is there anything she can do to lessen the pain?
Breast milk is very moisturizing. I found rubbing breast milk on the nipples helped a lot. If you are having trouble squeezing some out, olive oil worked well too.

comment Why are there so many snaps on infant clothes?
Buttons are traditional and snaps are better than buttons. Zippers are annoying because you have to undress them completely to change a diaper (snaps you just do what's needed). Not sure what's left? I recommend just purchasing pants and shirts. Much, much, much easier than these onesies.

comment How to get a 3 year old to inform us he went poop?
I asked my daughter to tell me otherwise her bum gets very dirty and that poop gets stuck on it. I showed her the dirty panties. After that, she consistently told me....

comment Am I wrong in what I did? Locking a door on a screaming toddler at bed time!
I edited your post...heavily. Took out a fair bit of portions about general parenting and marital issues and focusing instead, on the question posed in the title. There are many issues in your post, it is worth it to see a counselor or sit and identify the various issues you're facing so you can ask them individually.

comment What can be done to control a toddler?
1.5 is young for a theater. Wait a couple of years.

comment My toddler has started “lying”
@justkt - That's a common occurrence as far as I understand -- just not understanding what I am asking, I figure. But to actually "make up a story" about what happened -- that's far fetched!

comment 2 year old still does not (and has never) slept through the night
I had to put a fair bit of toys in my older one's crib recently (she is roughly 26 months old as well). She's got a potato head, train tracks, 3 stuffed animals, a pillow, a blanket....and somehow there is room for her in there too. She plays with her toys and then eventually falls asleep (I can usually her talking through the door). Not sure if it'll work for you if it's just a cry for attention :( We also have ours go to the potty before bed and we have black-out blinds in her room. She sleeps roughly 10-12 hours straight. Bedtime for us is around 10 PM (she never falls asleep sooner)....

comment Kindergarten Teacher teaching in Spanish, should I be concerned?
I think the exposure is kind of nice, but if you are terribly concerned, move your child to a different daycare where the primary language is English. Having the teacher speak English when nobody else in the kindergarten does seems slightly unreasonable of a request.

comment Is it normal that a 2½ year old omits any “s” in the start of words?
My name begins with an S, and my 2.5 year old daughter still skips the s. She does the same thing with "(s)top" (like yours), etc. Seems common.

comment How to fit 3 children car seats into the back of a car
Britax car seats tend to be skinnier than other ones I have found - try, and you should be able to fit the 3 of them legally and safely in your backseat.

comment How do children manage to sleep in noisy environments?
Everyone will sleep anywhere, despite the noise levels, discomfort, etc. - if they are exhausted enough. Kids just get exhausted a lot faster. Some kids (and people) can sleep in noise even if they are not exhausted. Some can't. While my older daughter slept with any amount of noise, my younger one wakes up to my typing. So, it varies.

comment 3 year boy old will not wear shorts or t-shirts WHY?
The summer came and my daughter would start her winter song of "boots, coat, hat, mitts." She'd keep asking for them, so I just hid them. "Boots all gone! Let's wear sandals!"

comment Should I supplement children's education at home?
+1 Similar experience to Torben & Rory. By switching schools too much, you end up forcing your child to focus on building friendships instead of focusing on learning. Some sort of stability is nice.

comment Ok to mix breast milk with water?
Depends on how much fluids the baby is getting. If the 1 year old baby is not drinking breastmilk or formula - you probably need to give it some water. Might be best to consult with a pediatrician in your region to determine if you should be giving water to the baby based on its diet.

comment What are the biggest expenses for a new baby?
No. We were the first amongst her friends to get married and to have kids. So we will be the providers, not the provided ones.
