Do I need infant cloth diaper covers with a cut-out for the umbilical cord? 1) They aren't needed. Cloth folds very easily. 2) Yes, you can just fold down normal covers until the cord falls off. 3) Yes, they can be used even after the cord falls off. |

Are cloth diapers really supposed to fit a newborn? We had ours in cloth diapers from the start - about a pound heavier than yours. We had prefolds and folded them differently when she was a newborn vs. 6 weeks vs. now (10 months). |

What are some good strategies for preventing Diaper Rash? Cloth wipes are actually really gentle on the baby's bum - put some warm water on them before and it's fantastic. Plus, since we use cloth diapers, we just wash the wipes with the cloth diapers. It's not a separate load. |

What do we do if our children don't like the nanny? +1. I'd be wary of discounting your kids' feelings. It isn't necessary that he just wants his way - maybe the nanny really isn't as great with him when you're not around. Ask him for details. Explain the nanny's behavior if necessary. Work with him. |

How do we help our toddler to sleep through the night? Also, don't be like the couple who gave their baby the last meal at 6 PM and wondered why she woke up at 2:30am. Babies are people. They have trouble sleeping when they're starving. Our daughter goes 8-10 hours without food. And 10 hours is really pushing it, she wakes up starving. |

How do we help our toddler to sleep through the night? I had my doubts too, but do give it a shot :) We always went to bed after her as well, and when she woke up for the first time...we just called it a night. We'd breastfeed her, and put her back on the bed. When she was in our room, she'd stand up in her crib, crying...looking towards our bed (even if we weren't in the room). In her own room, she'll sometimes lift her head up...and then put it back down <1 minute later. |

What are the next steps after a twin mix-up has been discovered after several years? Just to confirm, no, they do not do finger prints at birth. You can opt in for a heel prick which will sometimes result in a blood type test - although generally it's done for genetic testing. If you mixed up, you probably wouldn't know / it wouldn't matter. |

Why does my infant wake crying the instant we put him in his bed? Mine did that too, but at that point we had her in our bedroom still (in her own crib). As soon as we moved her out to her own bedroom (7 mos.), she cries for about 10-45 secs and then falls asleep. Doesn't wake up middle of the night either since we moved her out. |

Are modern cloth diapers really cost efficient compared to disposible diapers? How do those go for washing? We find that prefolds were much better and easier to wash. We had a set of 6 "modern" cloth diapers (a gift), and found that after about 2 months of use the stains wouldn't come off as easily, they started smelling, etc. etc |
