How to handle an unethical relationship It appears edits were made, but I don't believe the edits really make this answerable. Knowing the ages help, but since they are both adults, and because the only clarification provided as to the relationship between the OP and the brother is that the OP lives with the brother, and "watches out" for him, I don't see how answers here could provide practical answers beyond generic communication advice (which is exactly what the answer posted provides). |

What pre-cautions are to be taken by parents in case of sore-throat, chest congestion and fever for toddlers? To clarify, I wasn't suggesting either of those as examples for how the question should be edited, but rather as a general indication as to what direction the intent was. "What should I do to make sure my daughter isn't in danger" is pretty much specific medical advice, imo, which makes it off-topic. As @TorbenGundtofte-Bruun mentions, the question needs to be specific, as well as on-topic. As-is, the question is both too broad and covers portions that appear off-topic. |

How to handle an unethical relationship It would also be helpful to provide more background information, such as the age of your brother and your cousin's daughter, why you were looking through his computer records (and is your brother aware that you might do so?), and why you feel there is a need to intervene (does this have something to do with the suspected suicide attempt?). |

Parenting is indeed not limited to mother/father - son/daughter relationships, but it can't be assumed that every sibling will share some form of parental relationship (not every culture is the same), and nothing in your question as it is currently phrased provides sufficient information to really understand the roles in your relationship with your brother, or your cousin's daughter. If you could edit in more relevant information about the specific relationships, and then flag the question, we can re-evaluate. |

How to inspire a 7 year old to accelerate reading efforts? The complexity of the reading materials you list vary so widely that you can't really accurately compare them. There are definitely some comic books (see classics written by Alan Moore or Frank Miller) with more depth and complexity than many novels. There are plenty of novels that are quite simple; many are even geared for adults. |

I had a bad relationship with my mother, and her actions surrounding the birth of my son made things much, much worse, so perhaps you are better off waiting. I've updated my answer to address opportunities for some of the hobbies you listed; programming seems unlikely, but I think you'll have opportunities for photography and meditation even without help :) |

To clarify further, your mother is interested in taking your child to her house for a few months and raising him/her separate from you, but she is unwilling to help in any other way (such as coming over to your house and helping out while you're present)? |
