comment 14 yr old lesbian/bi daughter
The only danger is for the daughter to start lying and saying that a girl is 'only a friend' in order to get what she wants (the sleepover) putting more distance between parent and child. This is very difficult but I think @Bobo is right and you just have to trust that your daughter will be forthright with you always.

comment How to single handedly bathe a newborn?
using a couple of fingers under the armpit, a couple over her shoulder, and your thumb on the other shoulder. - This is exactly how the nurses taught us to do it. You can easily control your newborn this way (grabbing opposite shoulder with your forearm under the child's head for support/elevation). It also helps to have a baby-sized bathtub (so the sides are not so high).

Thanks for clarifying (I missed the link before). Unfortunately, I'm only finding low quality stories (witches eating children, animals with birth defects, etc.). I'm sure they intend to teach non-discrimination but I'm really wanted to keep it light to start the reading process.

comment How do I help a child overcome fear of ghosts?
While we cannot disprove the existence of ghosts and, therefore, some will continue to believe in them, it reasonably follows that if there are many ghosts then some should be stronger than others (as is true for animals, plants, etc.). So, the logic seems valid.
