comment How can I explain to my son why sunlight will hurt his eyes?
I'm not sure you want to teach a 30-month-old how to easily burn things. It could have serious consequences.

comment Why do Heinz's Honey packets say not to give them to children under 12 months?
@KingsInnerSoul Heated honey is a dead honey, it's less tasty and contains less nice stuff. This is true in general, a lot of food does lose qualities by heating.

comment How should a parent advise a child who wants to become a musician even though he is devoid of talent?
If only I could upvote more than once! Both for "be positive" and "get an electronic instrument" :)

comment What should I do if my 15 year old son is sexually interested in younger boys?
@HopelessN00b At any time until your puberty and post-puberty is over, things can change easily since your hormones change rapidly, and so does your brain. And even after that, there's the time of self-recognition, which can be pretty long. Some people realize their sexual orientation and preferences very late, and what they liked at 15 and at 40 is very different. Though, showing a preference for 8yos at the age of 15 seems like a sign of "love for children".

comment How can I make my kids passionate in science while being religious?
I don't have a specific answer, you've got enough. I just want to say that I am happy for your decision and I wish you luck! (I'm a religious person and a scientist myself.)

comment How to keep a toddler occupied at the hospital or doctor's office?
I like this answer very much. I would just add, and sorry for me being straightforward: Get ready -- all three of you: you, your wife and your 2-year-old -- that it can happen you'll have to leave the room. Especially for your wife who'll be probably quite exhausted by then, talking about this possibility before will make it easier for her if you really happen to leave the room while she gives birth.

comment Should children be preemptively taught about drugs, alcohol, and sex?
+1 From my experience, at 10 they know too much stuff the shouldn't and too little stuff they should. It's only the adults around that can change it.

@Joe Thanks for your comment; I tried to moderate the answer a bit. I hope it's better now.
