comment How can I safely keep a pacifier in an infant's mouth?
Duct Tape... ok really, we just bought the wipes meant for cleaning it. We had the leash for them that attached to the cloths but she would just take it off :/

comment How can I help my son develop a social life? How can I prevent him becoming socially isolated?
My father used to come down on me really hard when I was younger because of the computer. He refused to see any little applications I made and always told me I was rotting my brain away. It took 10+ years but he finally sees the fruits of my labor and couldn't be more proud. I feel the media over exaggerates the effects of the "all mighty screens" there is a lot to learn and experience that can help you grow in all areas of life. Good luck, software development has a bright future with great income and many non-standard perks over normal jobs :)

comment How can I deal with my unreasonable 8 year old with ADHD?
Our family is also struggling with a child that has severe ADHD. We have jumped medication to medication, we have dealt with the ticks they have created including him eating his nails gone. He has become a chronic liar which he did not pickup from us. I love him, but he makes life so difficult for our whole family. We have done therapy, which seems to make him happy though not sure how much it has helped. Stay away from food with red and yellow dyes in them. Good luck, and you are not alone.

comment Restarting baby-led weaning after an actual choking
I feel for you, our baby started nearly choking on watermelon and I was traumatized for a while myself. Out baby also shoved everything as much as she can in her mouth. We actually stuck with level 3 baby food which has minor chunks and stay away with anything that has solid meat chunks as she is 18mo and still has a hard time eating it even with teeth. I would stick to feeding them myself with a spoon unless it was the little snacks that disolve easy.

comment I've taken all of my 13 year old daughter's possessions, and she's still disrespectful
I am not looking forward to these days with the daughter :( my sons are 9 and 11 and they are already starting to get crazy and like you.. I have taken everything away in attempts to not whoop them but it seems the time is coming.. good luck

comment 16mo still not walking, I think it's my fault?
Yeah, I feel I am the enabler :/ I am ALWAYS there to catch her when she falls. If they were bottom falls I don't mind but she has a habit of throwing her self backwards(my fault as well) and I don't want her getting brain damage from smashing her head. My sisters baby bumped her head and got brain swelling and has a serious condition now so I feel a little paranoid. But I agree with what you are saying, I really wish I had carpet instead of hard floors I would let her fall all day long.

comment 11mo baby is shaking arms and legs when excited
Thank you, seizures were kinda on my mind though I thought maybe it was really minor versions. Thanks for the reassurance all is well, it definitely isn't as uncontrollable as a seizure.
