comment What is a reasonable amount of time to wait before family visits your new baby?
+1 for "it's your choice", which is very well balanced with the first part of your answer.

comment Resistant child and potty training regression
+1 for giving choices, we use more or less the same approach (usually this is choosing from some weather-appropriate pile of cloth). Sometimes we do have issues with putting on a coat, gloves or the like, but after a few moments in the cold our son usually appreciates warm cloth and is asking for them by himself - tantrum avoided. (I would not recommend this for children who get a cold easily, though.)

comment At what age do kids usually begin taking showers instead of baths?
Yep, same here - as of a little bit over two years, my son would be in the shower, hold the shower head and use it to shower all body parts in the order we asked him to; he is also capable of correctly using the soap. Usually however, he does prefer a bath.

Also see my answer to a related question: As Christine said, reserve no for dangerous situations, for the rest different strategies can be applied.

Please check out this question about walkers and saucers, in general children learn walking best on their own.

comment How do you effectively disinfect a large amount of toys?
For Lego, I've actually made good experience putting them into a bag and then the washing machine (cold, no spinning).

comment What is the minimum amount of structure and rules that a child needs?
Being consistent as parents has helped a lot with our 3yo so far: It's clear what the rules are (that you have) and what consequences arise when they are broken. Don't be afraid that you have to behave identically, though, it's fine if one of you is a bit more relaxed and the other a bit more strict.
