comment Should my 12 month old get milk in addition to nursing?
Most babies (and people for that matter) for most of history did not drink cow's milk or the milk of any other non-human creature for that matter. Drinking milk is weird.

comment What is a good compilation of songs in english for children that includes the “classic” ones?
Also, try to find Pete Seeger's "American Favorite Ballads", a set of records containing all the folk classics like "Big Rock Candy Mountain", "Old Dan Tucker", "You are my sunshine" etc. amazon.com/American-Favorite-Ballads-Pete-Seeger/dp/B001SGKQI6 Amazing music even if you don't have kids!

usually "giving in" does come with consequences, and only happens when it's an issue of immovable scheduling, safety, etc. but its definitely "immovable object meets irresistible force"!

@monsto - very interesting. we are very anti drugs for most of these kinds of issues, though some cases do see warranted.

comment Can we afford to have a baby?
Helpful: deliberatism.com/blog/the-minimal-baby Remember, billions of children have been raised for the equivalent of hundreds or low thousands of dollars. At the same time, you will feel an uncontrollable desire to spend money on your child (or on things that make you seem like a good parent to others)... I guess my answer is, as much or little as you want.
