@Beofett in my opinion it's too similar and would be closed as duplicate. I didn't change the question, just added an update - existing answers are still relevant, and new answers will be welcome. If anything, maybe expanded the question.

Thanks, good advice. We (i.e. wife and me) considered starting potty training when he first did it, but consulting with his daycare staff decided he's not ready yet since he shows no other signs. But when we will, what you describe with prizes and all sounds just fine. :)

comment How do I tell my Mom I'm Agnostic?
@Erica because you closed it and said "If you feel that the linked questions don't fully apply to your situation and the existing answers aren't sufficient, please comment here and we can look into reopening your question" - since it might take long time to gather five high rep users, I thought it might be good idea to ping you too so you can reconsider. Looks like it was a mistake.

@DA01 see edit, now your comment became more relevant, but what concerns me is that it's a bath, not shower - while of course he's not drinking the water, he's still inside the water with his own urine so not sure how sterile that is.

@anon no big deal, mistakes happen - thanks for letting me know! :)

comment What to do about 1 year old boy who keeps pulling hard at his penis and scrotum?
Clenching the legs sounds weird, but if you say there's no sign for pain guess it's all good. My own son is nearly 2 years old by now, and he's doing it only in bath, though not really as hard as you describe. Anyway hope the advice in the answer would help you! :)

While I agree with this answer, there is a chance he's doing it because something irritates him there. Did you go to a doctor for a close inspection? Also, does he cry while doing it? Or show any sign of pain? (not due to pulling, before that)

Fair enough, and it even gave you two hats. :)

I don't think this got anything to do with sex, thus I re-tagged.

@bjarkef weird, in my country all doctors encourage daily bath. Guess each country and its own habits.

comment How to get my son to sleep earlier
As long as he sleeps OK and at least 12 hours per day I think it's all good and no real need to make him go to sleep earlier. As parents, we usually need to adjust to our child's needs, not the other way around. :)

comment Encopresis: how can we encourage our child to clean himself or ask for help immediately instead of ignoring the dirty underwear?
I read this answer twice, once when seeing it yesterday and again now. While using "I pooped my pants" sticker sounds like something offensive/shaming towards the kid, the context and the good cause makes it bearable and more: I think I would also use same method, if forced into a corner by the kid like that. My daughter shows initial sign of such behavior, hopefully it will be sorted out by itself, she's only 4. Anyway glad you found the golden path, I can understand how hard it must have been.
