Use that as the basis for conveying the emotion. You need something the child can equate to...otherwise severity is still unknown in his eyes.

Mar 31	comment	Is it normal for a husband to sleep significantly more while his wife is pregnant? Keep in mind while it can be psychological (Couvade); emotions can be taxing on the human body. With increased emotions, planning, etc... feeling tired is the bodies normal coping mechanism as it is being demanded of like never before.

Mar 31	comment	How do you decide when it is time to change schools? @Tony It makes no difference unless you believe age is a relevant component. The concept remains the same in that separation does indeed exist whether from primary to secondary or elementary to middle.

Mar 31	comment	How strict should we be with our 14 month old boy? Agree for the most part however my children understand that rules vary from location to location. Grandma can have her own rules about behavior on the couch whereas at mom and dad's the rules differ. @torbengb the oven door can potentially be hot...we underestimate the brains of our children and try to speak down to them. They understand more then we give them credit for.
