comment Just found out my 13 year old girl is Bi and dating a 17 year old girl in an “open” relationship. Huh? Now what?
Wow eBusiness. Take it offline. She did the right thing as she saw it, and as a very progressive parent I completely agree with her. stuff it.

comment How to explain why a relative is not welcome to a 9 year old
(This should be obvious, but...) Thank you for sticking up for the health and safety of your kids to everyone, up to and including your parents. Not every parent does this, so mega props to you & yours. Never EVER doubt yourself on this, and who you choose to allow your children to spend time with. (Not that you're doubting now, but I want to make sure you know that you're 100% on the right path here and you rock.)

comment How do I define 'rape' to an 8-year-old girl?
High time for the facts of life varies by culture and the maturity of the child, but the current feeling in the US, at least, is to start the conversation well before they get the details on the school bus.

comment Is it OK for my children to eat solely carbs and fruit, which is what they want
And you'll notice I didn't recommend them at all. I merely related what our pediatrician said would help our daughter.
