comment 5-yr-old tantrums and misbehavior - what am I doing wrong?
+1(million) for the calm, reasoned discussion with a willful 4-yr-old (oh my do I know THAT pain). And the pictures of the tantrum? Genius. I WILL be stealing that one, although mine are both attention hogs and would probably want to send them to everyone they know.

About when did this start? Did it coincide with his brother moving into the room with him?

comment My 44 month (4 months to 4 yrs) daughter is having HUGE trouble going POOP on the potty
I'll be crossing my fingers for you! Remember, what seems nonsensical to us isn't necessarily nonsense to our kids. We spent a LONG time (months, at least) saying bye-bye to the pees and poos and talking about what they did and where they went to play when we flushed. So don't be afraid to get truly nuts in your questions; you never know what will be on target.

@Erica, your point about equipping girls to handle bias should get all the stars.

+1 for conversing with your daughter when she lashes out verbally.
