comment My 13-year-old son made a foolish and wasteful donation. How can I teach him he was wrong?
5 years ago I donated money to a fake charity that came to my school. I didn't listen to my mom warn me against it. I promise you I learned my lesson on my own and what @200_success calls "natural consequences" were the only thing that could have (and did) work for me.

comment How to deal with a teenager who wants his parents to buy him everything his friends have?
From personal experience, a well organized summer camp where electronics are banned was a great source of complantacy and tankfullness for me. That and vollenteering at a Hospice.

comment How can I encourage my teenage sister to have political efficacy?
Agreed! Great advice. Unfair question ahead: Any idea on where I can find a mentor?

comment How can I motivate my child who doesn't care about rewards?
I rebelled in the same way the OP's child does. I did it because I was protesting a parenting style of authortative control. (I didn't know why I was doing it at the time)

comment How do you teach a child to call for help?
I don't see anything wrong with not asking for help. But the question is asking for ways to teach a child to call for help. You could have posted this as a comment.

True DA01, I realize now this is a very subjective question. Sorry. What about if the cheating in this hypothetical (this actually hasn't happened, but could) was a mores. Or a case were we can all agree was wrong.
