comment Baby weight after 1st month
I remember my eldest's six-week growth spurt. He ate every 45 minutes for three days. We were exhausted. By the end of it, he had grown 1.5 inches! In three days!

comment How to eat out with kids?
+1 for teaching restaurant etiquette. Also, I think having our kids order politely from the waitstaff (strange adults!) is one of the reasons that they are not shy about talking to their teachers, lunchroom monitors, librarians and others at school.

comment Improving verbal learning
Can he follow short, specific verbal instructions, but has trouble when two or more steps are included? Can he follow complex instructions if you get his attention first? Can he follow written instructions? Does he have trouble hearing?

comment My eldest is aware of “an f-word” but doesn't know what it is, should I tell him?
In our house, Pop-pop is mildly demented and has a tendency to swear like a sailor at high volume. We explained to our kids that those are 'impolite' or 'rude' words, and that we use nice words in our house—except Pop-pop, of course, but he can't help what he says, so let's use that as a learning experience.

comment Pros and cons of C section (Cesarean) delivery?
I don't know your reasons for choosing a C-section (and they aren't any of my business), but I wanted to share with you that before I gave birth to my first child, I thought labor was just something to be gotten through to have a baby at the end. What I learned was that the act of giving birth was incredibly powerful emotionally. I wouldn't trade that feeling for anything—but then again I had two wonderful births, attended by a very capable nurse midwife. Your mileage may vary.

comment newborn / 1mo : funny milk smell in the head?
Massaging a thin paste of baking soda over the scales will help remove them as well, if you are concerned about shampooing a lot.

comment Learning to propel oneself in a swing
My son learned when he was 4 because he wanted to impress his Aunty Jules. Otherwise, I think he'd still want us to push him.

comment Making isolation not feel like a punishment
You could play with him while allowing you daughter to play on her own. You could use the opportunity to model appropriate social play.

comment How to deal with a naughty nephew?
+1 he's not getting the right kind of attention. I bet this kid would show dramatic improvements if you played with him and pointed his good behavior out to him. Maybe it would set a good example for his mom as well.

comment How do you respond to a toddler who endlessly says “why?”?
We do this too, except we usually say "I can explain it after you've learned quantum mechanics in school." (He's in pre-K and waiting patiently.)

@Beofett and that leads to your kids saying awesome stuff like "Mommy says it tastes good because of the way the taste chemicals tickle my brain."

comment What can help prepare a 15 month old for the birth of a sibling?
+1 to you for talking about the "baby sister"...the whole time I was pregnant with my second child, it was "baby brother" and I think it made a big difference in my eldest son's mindset. Not a "new baby" to replace the "old baby," but rather a sibling!
