What studies exist regarding computer usage and computer game playing that support limiting access? Thanks for focusing on more than just violence. Lots of good interesting material and valid questions once you eliminate violence from the equation. |

Should we discourage our toddler from taking sippy cups to bed? Totally agree with this answer, just want to add that our (nearly) 3YO boy is almost completely potty trained now, and still takes a sippy of water to bed with him. (Since his mattress is on the floor, he props the cup up in the corner.) We don't feel that the cup hurt potty training at all, but we also don't feel he would suck on it out of boredom or for comfort. With the expected outliers, he has been waking up dry in the morning for several months now. Oh, and we also only put about an inch of water in the cup. There's no need for a full cup. |

What credentials are available to identify a babysitter as trustworthy? Not to mention it's not terribly difficult to forge a letter, as long as you're reasonably sure the recipient of the letter won't be tracking down and calling the person it's supposedly from. The phone call or F2F is more reassuring because you can get a sense of who you're talking to. |

What are some good places to find trustworthy babysitters? I think this is probably the most correct of them all. Internet + references is nice in a pinch, but word of mouth provides the most reassurance and comfort. |

What are some good places to find trustworthy babysitters? I'm not sure exactly how I feel about this yet, but I thought it worth reporting. I signed up for the free trial, and posted a job. Now that someone has applied for the job, I got an email saying "upgrade (to a paid account) to see the application". I'm a little put off by it, since I'm still within my free trial, but as I said, ultimately I'm not exactly sure how I feel about it. Is it worth $35 to find out I don't like my 1 applicant? |
