How do I get my child to remember to flush? @balanced mama: We definitely try to make him realise what he's done. And when he realises we've called him on not doing it, he trots off and does it. However, the interruption tends not to be something that motivates him to learn it. +1 anyway for good stuff. |

How do I get my child to remember to flush? @Christine Gordon: I love the idea of making the child solve the problem. He loves puzzles and problem solving so I will assuredly try this. Also: Is 'Positive Discipline" a book? +1 (+ more if I could) |

How do you handle a pre-schooler who tries to use excuses to justify his behavior? Thanks @MegCoates. It's one of the reasons I really love this site. It helps remind me that "I'm not alone dealing with this." |

What are some videos or cartoons that teach vocabulary words? I have several studies I'd love to see along those lines. Thanks for the comment. |

How long should I wait before I permit my children to have access to caffeine? While the opinion is valid for yourself and well thought out, I think that the opinion does not address the question. |

How do you decide if a movie is suitable for young children? Gremlins was the specific film that caused the PG-13 rating to be added in the states. |

What are some ways to teach a child how to spit (after brushing their teeth)? I used "model" to mean repeated demonstration |

How to get a child to stop pretending to choke on foods he doesn't want to eat? I should specify.. the mock choking is coughing on the food as if he is trying to act like he's choking but he's not really. It's very obvious to tell that he's not actually choking. Think Tom Hanks in Big eating the Paté |
