Is “hot saucing” bad parenting? a_hardin and Adam Clearly you are both decent parents. If you look at the average 4 year old though, you will see that they don't understand much of anything because the average parent is too lazy to talk to them. I am assuming that the kind of parent who would rather soap, spank, or hot sauce a child is going to be one of the average parents. |

Is “hot saucing” bad parenting? @Rory I agree with spanking (or crying or hugging them) a child in a situation like you mentioned, but I don't think that is punishment, at least not the way you did it. |

Is “hot saucing” bad parenting? Spanking is just as bad as hot saucing or soaping because there is still does not explain to the child why they are being punished. You say that it is only appropriate when a child is small, which makes no sense. How could a small child benefit from being hit? Spanking, like hot saucing and soaping, will breed fear. That is not the goal when punishing a child. |
