comment How do I stop yawning so much when I'm reading bedtime stories to my kids?
I just work it into the stories... my little one can't read yet, but whe she "reads" the page from her memory of my stories, she inserts the yawns just like I did :)

comment Raising a bilingual child when one parent knows both languages while the other doesn't
If it's important enough, you could pay for a Hindi-speaking nanny. If you are willing to dig into your Indian connections, it could even be comparable in price (esp. under-the-table rates) to daycare ...or you could split days (M/W/F daycare, T/TH nanny).

comment How do my wife and I stop our son from learning to swear from us?
I disagree that you have to stop altogether. That's one approach, but I found I had no problems keeping my swearing limited to certain groups (i.e., on army post, etc). This gets more complicated if the groups or situations mix.

comment Is there any scientific evidence in favor of co-sleeping with children?
@Bill, I'm sad to hear about your grandson. One thing to keep in mind is that co-sleeping is not recommended in some cases: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Co-sleeping#Precautions - This is likely not an exhaustive list, either.

comment How does having a second child change your life?
Gîte: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gîte - basically a vacation rental with the owner nearby.

comment As an atheist, how should I explain theism to my children?
In general, more exposure to many religions will allow a child to rationally choose one, or none... this was my experience as I grew up in one, moved and was an outsider in another. Both religions seemed to be good, but imperfect (in my view) and thus, I consider myself spiritual but not religious.
