Oh Math Blaster..... +1 for reminding me of my grade school days. :) That game was the best!

comment How can I negotiate with a toddler successfully?
My 5 year old daughter still acts this way! Especially in the morning when I want her to get ready for daycare and she refuses to get out of bed and get dressed. It seems like when time is limited is when kids want to be the most stubborn.

More like the phone ringing (I must screen it!) haha :) Good advice though, I try the 1-2-3 thing as well.

I see nothing wrong with it either, but I think teachers do.

Actually, I have been working with him at home and although it seems that writing is still a problem, he seems to do just fine with me. I think he might be so unsure of himself that he needs that one on one time. And I know that teachers hear all the time "My kid is just fine at home" and don't really believe it, but in this case I really think he is just fine at home. I've had to correct him a couple times, but I think as long as he has someone to keep him on track, it makes it easier. So now my next obstacle is....how do I keep him focused when I'm not around to keep him on track?

comment What do you do when your parents are physically hurting you?
I have actually called the police because my sister was getting death threats from her boyfriend while she was at my house. She was watching my son while I was in the hospital having my daughter. The police told me that there was nothing they could do because I didn't witness it and she should've called the police herself. So, you will have to convince her to call the police on her parents otherwise, there isn't much they will be able to do if you are the one who calls.

comment Should we change a wet diaper and risk triggering a night tantrum or leave our son be?
That makes sense. When they start running around more, diapers will get loser around the legs. Both Pampers and Luvs have "cruiser" type diapers for those purposes. Good point.

comment Why will my baby sleep easily at night, but not nap during the day?
There is window film that will tint the windows without blinds. I've never used it, but I hear it's just like car window tint. bit.ly/oVGSSo
