Lapsed Catholic. Luddite Geek. Shy Chatterbox. A mass of contradictions wrapped in an open enigma.

Some days, I really regret making http://stackoverflow.com/a/3638034/14250 a comm. wiki question. Then I get back to helping people solve problems rather than trying to help myself score rep. (Man, but 370 upvotes. Three. Hundred. And. Seventy.)

-1: I see where you're coming from, but this is general advice which could be added to any question on the site, from schoolwork to picking your nose. There's nothing here that directly deals with the question.

Hi Sebastian and welcome to the site! Just to check, is there anything specific to your situation that you feel the other questions under the [bilingual] tag don't cover? For example parenting.stackexchange.com/questions/67/… might be helpful to you.

Surely the question was should, not must?

comment How can I get my toddler to exit discreetly when threatening-looking people are around?
@DouglasS.Stones One thing you could do at a McDonalds is ask for a takeaway bag as "you're running late for something". Then head for the park to finish your McNuggets.

I appear to have semi-accidentally created a comment chat. Suggest we move this to actual chat. Deleting my comment (as Peter's advice has gone) and suggest the others do the same. – deworde just now edit

I don't know, she did put "As well, even if your daughter made a fuss about leaving, this is normal and those people would not have assumed it was because of them unless you told your daughter that that was the reason you were leaving."

I agree with this in principle, but if you were in a motorway cafe, and 3 guys came in looking for trouble and/or on drugs, you might want to err on the side of caution. In the given case, nothing happened, but if a fight had broken out, you wouldn't want your child in there.

An important part of the context here is where you were. Was it a children-friendly restaurant, a bar?

comment Should we put our baby in a helmet to mold her head?
True, thanks for the clarification. But this is NOT what's being talked about here. I specifically said "misshapen head that babies get from sleeping on their back". The misshapen head that results from a serious bone disease is, I would suggest, a different thing.
