What would be a good kit for cardboard construction projects for a pre-teen? Those are called brads. :) |

How can I make my preschool child brush his teeth, and similar mandatory tasks? But, @DanBeale, cinnamon and not mint is the natural antibacterial. I understand not using bubblegum flavor, but cinnamon or plain should be okay. |

What consequences are appropriate for pre-teens? I'd like to note that the trick question only works if the child feels like they've messed up and so feel guilty for it. One with more, shall we say, chutzpah might simply brush off the question. Be wary of this trick being transparent as the get older. |

In what ways can you help a child develop self-control and delayed or deferred gratification? Ross, my larger point was that her ability to develop delayed gratification aside, her parents setting good examples for her are more likely to keep her from developing debt or dropping out of college. The OP and his partner/significant other being, demonstrating, and rewarding her ability to be patient will, in my humble opinion, give their daughter the skills and values she will need to be successful. Basically, I was trying to tell the OP to have a little faith. :) |

What are some ways to encourage a gifted toddler's development? Fair enough, @Martha, but in the poster's defense, he's asking that, assuming the child is, in fact gifted, what can they do to encourage this. |

Is there an alternative to Boy/Girl Scouts in the US? I was a municipal liaison to a B&GC for a summer. It was one of the best experiences of my life. |

Why is my newborn crying constantly? I edited this to clean up the links a little bit -- you may find this page to be quite helpful. Heaven knows I did! :D |
