comment What are some suggestions for punishing a child?
When it is within the parent's boundaries it is within limits. It works every time with my 5 different kids. If my kids are testing my boundaries at the age of 2, and they have that look in their eye with a handful of food and I just know they are planning to throw it on the floor, I don't get mad or punish. I just say calmly, "If you throw it, you will clean it up." It is within my boundaries. They have a choice. That is teaching lifelong lessons. I won't always be there to watch out for their actions. We always have a consequence when we make a poor choice.
