comment Loud Screaming to attract attention
Thanks @monsto you understand me. There was no danger at all, just normal baby cries, the meaning was clearly "I want Mama near me NOW!". About, "better not let her win", what I mean is that it is better if both the parents and the baby know (by experience) that parents will not bend if they do not want to. With my 4yo boy I let him bend me to his wills very often, and do it light-hearted, because we both know I will not bend if i do not want to (e.g. if I think there is some danger, or he is trespassing some red line).

Yes, "forced", because she was loosing her self-control. She agreed with me before that we had to do this. But with her baby crying she was not herself anymore so i had to "force" a bit. I was crying inside too, mind you, but sometime you shan't hear this inside voice.

@balancedmama it depends, not for hours obviously but the important point is to show the kid you are a loving partent, not a kind of "come here immediately" slave. Same idea as answer by Rory Alsop.

comment How to Teach That Following Rules is Not Always Good?
Learning how, why and when to break the rules is as important as learn how, why and when to follow them, and home is the best place to learn that skill. I'd say well-behaved kids are those who know to do both well. (Maybe it is a French specifics, but here in France you see rule-breaking everywhere, always in the name of principles.)

comment Is Video Chatting Bad for Newborns?
Mh, I also hate TV for myself and my kids, we do not have TV at home. Ads for kids is a crime against humanity, if you ask me. However everyone is free and I think advices about kids should not be culpabilizing parents, therefore the "TV together > TV alone".

How old is he? If the teeth only started to come it might be much too early to even brush teeth.

comment Do I need to put cloth diapers through two wash cycles?
You will not be 100% diapers are clean even after 10 cycles! What you can be certain of is that by washing them once you have done what has to be done. No need to culpabilize yourself on such a little thing...

"Residual smell": do you mean that these diapers are clean enough? Either they are and you can use them, or they are not clean and your washing machine is broken or misused. I do not see any good reason to wash twice anything (except for the detergent industry).

How do you say "no"? Maybe she do not believe in this "no"?

comment The noise of his children playing makes a parent tired and glad to leave for work
At 3/4 kids are quite ready to understand that you are not devoted to them and can't listen to them full time. Actually they should listen to you. They are also very happy to go to the playground with a nanny.

Did you try to avoid the second wash cycle? What is the result?
