How to react to “cruelty” of a toddler? Not sure about the sarcasm since it's not the first time he proposes that... |

How to react to “cruelty” of a toddler? I think he does understand: he knows what to say when he is hurt and we say the same when he hurts us or some stuffed animal. But he probably doesn't fully understand it. |

How do you determine what the age-appropriate foods for a baby are? @Corvus: maybe it was not clear, but I was referring to "physiological" need. Of course it's good for the child to try other things before one year: anyway she'll be interested in what you are eating well before that. |

Is there any scientific evidence in favor of co-sleeping with children? @HedgeMage: you're of course right that correlation is different from causation. Still it does kind of makes sense to me that if you sleep right next to your child you'll be able to respond more quickly and effectively to any distress, unless of course you inadvertedly do harm to him/her while sleeping. But no proof of that... |

How widespread is attachment parenting? It would just fulfill my curiosity. I think it's a great parenting style and wonder how many people share it: the more the better! |

What are some strategies for raising a bilingual child? I think it is much harder if the father (unless he is the primary caregiver) has the minority language. No child will have trouble learning the mother's (or primary caregiver's) language. Even with a nanny. |

At what age should I expect my daughter to talk? I always get annoyed by those "statistics": every child is different and if they are a bit late on that timeline it doesn't mean anything. If by age 3 your childs still doesn't say anything, THEN there might be a problem. |
