Is it reasonable to put limits on a pre-teen playing video games? Whatever you do add a day once a while they can play a huge block of time untill they are completely tired of it. Only setting limits would get them into a habit of wanting to play. |

How can I get my primary-schooler to remember to turn off the light? I'd even go for a 'slow/easy going' punishment system. If he forgets to turn of the light, turn on the lights in his room so he knows he forgot to turn off the lights somewhere. |

How do you determine what the age-appropriate foods for a baby are? The child knows best. Simply let the child decide when its time to start eating food. Give him little pieces to chew at and if he likes it hell ask for more but only start with a couple of pieces at a time to see how he reacts. |

What is a good age to start teaching a child Ancient Latin and Greek? Kids skip most of the grammar anyway like word order anyway. I would wait with the explanation till they understand things like word ordering and reordering in you're original language. |

Would it be bad to only speak to a child in a language in which you are not completely fluent? Start carrying a little dictionary and show the kid you have to look up words anyway. That must be the best way to learn a better vocabulary. |

What are some do's and dont's for an effective bedtime ritual? Let the kid wind down. Especially when they can't talk yet. Tell them about you're own day and explain/talk to him about his day. If he went to the zoo talk about the animals he likes. If he went to his grantparent ask him if he liked that. Tell him a bit about what he's going to do tomorrow. |

Does anyone recognize where the phrase “Dinosaur on the button” comes from? This sounds a bit like a kids joke thats really working for him. Dinosaur ..... on the button. Isn't it hilarious? (not really though) I don't recognize it but is there a problem for him using the catch phrase? |

What cartoons teach basic math? As far as I know cartoons don't really work on the teaching department and are more for entertainment. Sure they might learn a little bit but the time would have been much better spent training mathematics together then in front of a tv. |
