Is “hot saucing” bad parenting? +1. To answer your question, if I hot sauce my wife, I will lose a limb: if I am lucky. You make a very pertinent point, punishing young ones, because one can, is bad. Thanks! |

Is “hot saucing” bad parenting? @WilliamGrobman, 1. The correct statement is, "for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Not the next minute, or the next day, but soon enough. Wouldn't you agree, "violence begets violence?" 2. I believe good things happen all the time, we simply do not thank enough for those. 3. I believe that it is a good thing for the civilization to learn this principle; it breeds courtesy, chivalry, piety and many other good things. |

Is “hot saucing” bad parenting? @Pekka, I believe, "do good, and good things will happen to you" is a good principle for a kid to believe - with or without the intevention of God. |

Is “hot saucing” bad parenting? @Pekka, I think it is personal faith. My son does not believe in God, even though we tried to. Even if you are atheist, would you not your kid to believe in the concept of "what goes comes around?" |

Is “hot saucing” bad parenting? we do not swear, never. I did find out how he learnt it, and dealt with it separately. In retrospective, I see now, may be it was harsh. Also, you have another very good point. We do not let him watch anything but G/PG on TV. No E10/T/M rated games. Now, I do worry, this in fact could potentially make him become sneaky! |

What do we do with the elder sibling during our baby's delivery? Thanks for all the information BBM. I have 9 year old son to take care of. Unfortunately, for that very time period, grandparents are not an option :-( We have at least another 2 months before our new baby, so nanny seems to be a good option; hopefully I can work out the logistics... |
