comment How to better engage myself with my 15 month old
"Open-ended toys could also be beads, crayons, play-doh, sand in the yard, and many other things." How many more examples do you need? I did include a definition; anything not meant to be used in one specific and limiting way.

comment As an atheist, how should I explain theism to my children?
@rotard I don't see much in the way of religious causes - that's my point. Looking at the past couple of hundred years, wars were about territory control, political power, natural resources and food supply - not about "kill all the infidels" (except this mention).

@rotard my personal definition is simple: Many bloody wars have been fought in the name of Christianity and Islam. I'm not aware of similar problems with East-Asian religions, which is but one reason why I like them better.

Upvoted to counter product-specific downvote :-) Perhaps @Ida does not realize that the Tripp Trapp is almost as ubiquitous as Ikea? Honestly, look in any home in Europe and you'll be nearly certain to find one.

@bjb568 I can't tell whether you're saying immunizations is crap, or whether "if you choose to" is crap. Either way, immunizations ought to be mandatory but they aren't - and some people will violently contend them, so I felt the need to be a bit softer in my answer than in this comment.

@sleske This is not at all about SIDS. You're confusing SIDS with plain and simple suffocation risk. Look up discussions about SIDS on this site.

As long as it takes, @myang. Some stories are really just an anecdote, so you might like to tell two of those in one evening. Some stories are extensive, and you could either simplify as needed, or split into two nights - if you manage a cliffhanger, that would certainly help getting your daughter to bed the next evening!
