comment How much sun is too much for a child?
Window glass blocks most of the UV light, which lessens the risk of sunburn but also means no Vitamin D is produced, so in this case it's not that valid.

comment What are the objective arguments against immunizations for infants and children?
@nuc: It has 11 upvotes because it is correct and to the point, which is helpful. It has nothing to do with "wanting to hear".

comment What can be done to help bright children stuck in a boring school?
@tenpn: All bananas are yellow. Hence the sun is a banana.

comment When can I cover my baby with a blanket in her crib?
Yeah, they are popular in France (they are called gigoteuse there), especially the thicker variants. We thought they were weird and didn't use them in the beginning, but in fact they are great. Heavier one will also delay the age when they can turn over in their sleep with a month or two, so they won't turn over on their stomach.

comment What are some milestones a child should reach before learning programming?
I think programming is rather more likely to teach your kid the things he needs than the other way around. But he'll need to be able to read/write and use a computer of course. Although there are programming style games that doesn't use text.

comment Is teeth grinding bad for my child?
I'd probably ask a dentist. Grinding teeth is bad, but grinding milk-teeth? I don't think so. I guess it's just a question about exploring the fact that she has teeth. But do I know? Nope.

comment How can I potty train a 12 month old?
David: Oh. Well, see discouraging them lies so far outside my mindset that I can't even imagine how you would do that (no you don't need to tell me). :-) I can also not imagine how anybody actually involved with kids the last 30 years would think that would be helpful.

Vocabulary is not encoded in the genes. :-)

comment Can fraternal twins develop their own “language”?
I don't think anybody claims there is "a twin language". What happens is that children that learn to speak at the same time, which twins does, will start using words that they got from each other, which means they get a vocabulary where some words are unique to them. This is what is meant, and hardly controversial that it exists. :)

comment At what age should I expect my daughter to talk?
It's worth mentioning, and none of the answers below do, that this also depends on how many languages is around the child. Children in multi-lingual environments take longer (but also has easier to learn more languages later).

comment Can fraternal twins develop their own “language”?
Not my downvote, but it's not really an answer, more of a comment.

comment What are the objective arguments against immunizations for infants and children?
It's a dismissive and objective response.

comment How can I potty train a 12 month old?
I have to admit that although you say this is not "potty training" I have absolutely no idea what the difference is and can't imagine any way to do it. So it sounds like potty training to me, and the only difference seems to be according to Wikipedia that is can be done from early on, while the "Readiness approach" says you should wait until 18 months.

A hot sauce could irritate her eyes, and lemon juice tastes good. :)

comment When should I transition a 2 year old toddler from the cot to a bed?
I'm not sure anecdotal answers is that helpful... See for example meta.parenting.stackexchange.com/questions/6/…

The question is a bit unclear... Are you asking a question, or asking for people to share their stories? :-)

comment How can I get my 12-month baby to sleep in her bed?
Ah, thank you, I never heard of the 5-10-20 trick. That sounds worth a try.

comment How can I get my 12-month baby to sleep in her bed?
I'm sure it's just attention/habit. It means I'll have to sit there until she actually gets physically tired of standing up, which will take hours... :-(

Yes, it is hurting something. Yes, she should sleep in her own bed.

@David: should possibly be an answer. Early yes. "Agressively" in any of it's various meanings, no. Playfully early, yes.
