comment What are suggested way to deal with a “distracted” 6 year old?
Could be ADD. Could be normal 6 year old. Could be she's bored of the particular sports she plays. It could be a whole range of things. If it's a concern, start talking to some professionals that can maybe steer you in the right direction. Her pediatrician would be a good start.

That may depend on region. In the US, a diagnosis of ADD often requires the teacher's 'diagnosis'.

comment How do I tell my parents I'm no longer Christian?
@user3143 I think you're misunderstanding the context of the comment. I'm referring to the part that's talking purely about "what is best for you" being based on religious beliefs.

@user3143 OK. Not sure what that has to do with the religion thing, though.

There's bad people in any profession. And some are medical professionals. And some may over prescribe treatments. But be wary of brushing aside the benefits of medication when it helps.

comment 6 year old son gives money away (to parent, relatives, friends)
It may be an issue of having a different opinion as to what the value of money is. (Which, as a 6 year old, makes perfect sense)

You should explain to him how miserable he will be in 50 years if he doesn't start saving now for retirement. But that's a pretty heavy load for a 6 year old. Let him have fun being generous with 10 bucks.

Yes, this is the issue that needs addressing.

You need to find out why she fears this first.

comment What is a fair way to punish a sibling who unintentionally erases another's Saved Game?
Anyways, 'unintentional' = accidental and rarely should a parent punish accidents.

My wife deleted our DVR one day. Instead of punishment, I realized it was a gift. I was no longer pulled towards having to finish watching all that TV.

comment “Secret” correspondence with a child
If parent 'A' wants to expose child 'B' to interesting and inspiring personalities, I'd suggest the biography section of the local library.

comment What to do if my new-born child urinated into own ear?
FWIW, 'normal' human urine isn't acidic. It's pH neutral.

comment What should I do about my pre-teen son messaging older girls he's never met?
"One day he is in the shower playing with his action figures" = I never tried that. Off too the shower!

comment Is it preferable to have “sex talks” vs “all the time education”?
"The Talk" is typically just part off that overall "sprinkling of information"

I've used tape before but place it on the inside.

comment Is there any health risk from play-sand that's been left wet in its bags for a week?
For the record, mold grows on organic surfaces. Not sand.

I guess you could do this, but kids play in sand and dirt all the time. Unless you're sanitizing the entire yard, cleaning the sand seems a bit pointless.

Most sandy beaches get wet.

comment What are the steps parents of an introverted teenager can take to help him to socialize with girls?
There's a difference between being introverted and being shy. I think the question is asking more about being shy.
