Pongtonkerous! I am a developer and I code. Primarily develop in C# and Ruby, some enforced SQL, with a bit of iPhone objective-C thrown in for fun.

comment How can I stop repeating myself?
Yes, agreed - children are so often in fantasy land that it does take time for them to shift their focus back to the real world.

comment What to do when parents disagree regarding their parenting
It is unrealistic to expect to never argue in front of the children. If you do, it is important to ensure that the children also see you work things through and work out a compromise and make things up.

Its worth adding that no one actually knows why this makes a difference, just that it does.

comment How do I help my 3 month old sleep better through the night?
@joe_coolish I don't think we ever really used the pacifier during the day. Perhaps thats why she never built up much of a dependence.

We would do bottles rather than breast at night because it was a lot easier to get what she needed down her quickly with a bottle. During the day she would have breast. She did spend hours per day sucking one of those which was probably why a pacifier wasn't so necessary.

@joe_coolish We just went cold turkey and substituted it with bottles of expressed milk. It amazed me how much I'd spent messing about with dummies and rocking and a lot of palava when what she really just wanted was a good feed.
