At what age should a child be introduced to the Television? @Артём Царионов - very true. It depends on how you use it though ... I've seen people use an iMac with YouTube just like a TV w.r.t. 'entertaining' children :-( |

What are the pros and cons of a chicken-pox party vs immunization? "Your child will feel like shit and itch like crazy for a week." ... and possibly die. |

Are there any reputable studies on spanking? Personally I think corporal punishment can be appropriate as part of a rational parenting strategy ... but you don't answer the question, because you don't cite any reputable studies as evidence. |

At what age should a child be introduced to the Television? In fact, that 25% figure motivated me to build this: live25percentlonger.com |

At what age should a child be introduced to the Television? @Ernie: +1 to that. It's just that TV is so intrusive if you're not used to it. It's actually somewhat amusing to watch TV ads these days, after several years of isolation from them. |

At what age should a child be introduced to the Television? I'd downvote "because there's not much for a 4 year old to do when it's cold and raining outside all winter" if I could. |

Which breeds of dog are safe to have around a toddler? I showed my roughly three year old nephew how to put food down for our dogs, make them wait, then shout "okay" when he wanted them to eat. Dogs are social animals; for the most part, if they're well raised, they will take orders from anyone they think is higher than them in the pecking order. Note "for the most part" - dogs will also try to elevate themselves in that order, and push the boundaries, so never leave young children unsupervised with dogs. |
