comment Are ExerSaucers/walkers/jumpers bad for children or is that simply a misconception?
@DanBeale - If you are going to be pedantic, you should be accurate about it. He asks for research, individual cases and evidence. Evidence can have many forms, including anecdotes and personal experience. You may choose to pay my answer no mind, but it is simply not accurate that my answer was not responsive.

Not sure of the point of the comment. Did you infer that the walker use was unsupervised? The kid had fun scooting around the great room while the wife and/or I were sitting on the couch or tidying the kitchen (which views the great room). Common sense is not often wrong, but people use the term to rationalize stupidity. If a parent puts a kid in a walker and doesn't block the basement stairs, is the walker the problem, or the parent?

comment ADD Children and writing - tips, tricks?
@balancedmama Fair enough, but my experience is that this approach must be taken in day-to-day life. One with ADD, just like every other "differently-abled" person, needs to learn how to operate in the world "as is". It is far too easy to forget that, wait/rely/yearn/search for "the fix," and never learn/teach how to cope.

comment Do toddlers need every size of shoe?
@dan No. The reality of clothing and shoe sizing is that the sizes are close and variable within brand and style. Plus, most kid shoes stretch and loosen as they wear, so the size 5 will effectively be a size 6.5 before it seems to be too small, at which point you would buy a size 8 anyway.

comment how to tackle 6.5 years old misbehaving boy?
@Henry Congratulations, you destroyed the straw man that you created! How you got "servants or dogs" from my comment escapes me. Legitimate authority deserves respect. Parents are legitimate authority, as are teachers, police, and community leaders. Respect does not mean blind loyalty, or unquestioned obedience. It does means deference and recognition of authority. And we teach them to have that respect, initially by requiring that they respect us.
