Just what the title says. For websites, I'm looking for good interfaces, definitions/origins, and statistical info.

While I haven't used it for baby names (just character naming), I've found Think Baby Names to be exceptionally good as a source. They, like BabyNames.com, give origins and popularities, but they also give related names, alternate forms, and "sounds like" names. However, their site is horribly ad cluttered. |

Maybe this was just my experience, but for the most part, each of the dozens of baby name websites out there seemed to be the same thing in a different skin. The website I used was babynames.com, which is one of the more popular ones (possibly just because it snagged the best url). It shows you the origin of the name and how popular it is now. Something I didn't notice other websites do, it also tells you what year that name was most popular. |
