DISAGREE WITH THE CLOSE! In every one of the SE sites, there is a "best books" question, and they are usually viewed a lot, answered a lot, and provide tons of good info. – tomjedrz Aug 16 '11 at 23:52
Yes. Beofett is way off base here. I understand there is a precedent for closing questions which seem like sales/marketing requests. But "Subjective questions that solicit opinions or discussions are considered off topic"? Give me a break. I've been on various SE sites for years. So much of what we do is subjective. You are limiting the usefulness of this site in an unproductive way. – Bob Oct 19 '12 at 18:13

I am a child developmentalist and I believe that bringing up a 'developmentally rounded' child is out ultimate responsibility as parents. That doesn't just mean attending to the needs which will help their physical and cognitive development, it means giving them the best environment in which to develop both socially and emotionally. I would guide you to a book written by an American psychologist called 'Barbara Rogoff.' It is called 'Apprenticeship in Thinking.' Give it a go, - not only will it teach you how children think and learn, but how they develop socially and emotionally.
