This is a site for parenting Q&A, but medical advice is off-topic. It is potentially dangerous to follow medical advice from strangers on the Internet! Always consult with someone whose medical credentials you trust. See answers to the question "When to take a child to the doctor". – Torben Gundtofte-Bruun Jul 26 '11 at 17:44

Could be viral infection in eye or baby scratched/irritated him/herself. If it doesn't go away in a week, see a doctor.
